A Time of InnovationWith war, comes new inventions. Geniuses emerge with new ideas in order to win the war and avoid the shame of losing. Tanks were invented to drive over the trenches, along with flame throwers and mustard gas. Planes became more advanced so enemies couldn't shoot them down. Immediately after World War I, the United States experience an economic boost. Thus, a new idea of material wealth for all was born. Henry Ford capitalized this idea with the invention of the assembly line, so he could create cars for the average American to drive.
